2022 Street Improvements

Overview
Street maintenance is one of the largest and most expensive responsibilities of Township government. White Bear Township is continuing to make improvements to their Pavement Management Programto preserve the Town’s 42.9 miles of local roads, provide for the safe and efficient travel of its citizens, retain property values, keep the city attractive and desirable, and minimize costs to the property owners and taxpayers for the Town.

Project Information

White Bear Township is considering street improvements for the following streets: 

  • Birch Knoll Drive
  • Effress Road
  • Martin Way
  • Portland Ave

The White Bear Township Pavement Management Program identified these streets for possible improvement in 2022. On November 2, 2020, the White Bear Township Town Board ordered the preparation of a feasibility report for the Township’s 2021 / 2022 street improvements. Below is a map showing the street improvement areas studied in the feasibility report.

Project Updates:

Monday, May 16, 2022 - Xcel Energy continues to install their new gas lines. This is not part of the street improvements project. Xcel Energy’s subcontractor Q3 crews are stating 17 trees will be removed with the street project. There are actually only 16 tree removals and 14 are in Bellaire Park off of County Road F.

Monday, April 18, 2022 - Xcel Energy has started preparing for the gas line replacement activity. Xcel Energy has given out a construction flyer to the impacted residents. This is not part of the street project.
