White Bear Township Day postponed to September 2021
The White Bear Township Park Board and Town Board have made the very difficult decision to cancel White Bear Township Day, which was scheduled for September 19, 2020. The town festival annually attracts more than 4,000 people to Polar Lakes Park for its live music, food and beer garden, classic car show, kids activities, fireworks, and more.
Initially, the Park Board waited to see what other local festivals were doing and considered simply scaling back activities to just the car show and fireworks. But with the continued ban on large gatherings and concerns from public safety officials, it was decided that it would be difficult to safely manage a large crowd and enforce safety protocols.
The Township will continue to host its free Movies in the Park series in Polar Lakes Park at dusk, with hearts spray-painted on the grass to promote social distancing, and face coverings encouraged. Upcoming movies include August 1 - Mary Poppins, August 8 - Dora & the Lost City of Gold, and August 22 - Little Giants. Visit bit.ly/WBT_Movie for details. Concessions will be available for purchase, and donations will be collected for the White Bear Lake Area Food Shelf.
It takes a great community to make this event a success! If you would like to sponsor White Bear Township Day, or donate to the Silent Auction benefiting Polar Lakes Park, please contact Lisa Beecroft at 612-250-4991.
