Gilfillan Area Street Improvements
Overview
Street maintenance is one of the largest and most expensive responsibilities of Township government. White Bear Township is continuing to make improvements to their Pavement Management Program to preserve the Town’s 42.9 miles of local roads, provide for the safe and efficient travel of its citizens, retain property values, keep the city attractive and desirable, and minimize costs to the property owners and taxpayers for the Town.
Project Information
White Bear Township is considering street improvements for the following streets:
- Greenhaven Drive
- Gilfillan Lane
- Moon Lake Circle
- Crescent Curve
- Meadowlands Drive
- Birch Bend Lane
- Birch Lake Blvd N
The White Bear Township Pavement Management Program identified these streets for possible improvement in 2022. On August 15, 2022 the White Bear Township Town Board ordered the preparation of a feasibility report for the Township’s 2023 street improvements. Below will be a map showing the street improvement areas studied in the feasibility report.
Project Updates:
Friday, June 9, 2023 - Concrete is being poured on Greenhaven Drive. Deteriorated sidewalk is being removed on Greenhaven Drive. Castings and iron from utility structures is being adjusted on Greenhaven Drive, Gilfillan Lane, and Crescent Curve.
Thursday, June 8, 2023 - Concrete is being poured on Moon Lake Circle and Greenhaven Drive. Removals are taking place on Greenhaven Drive. Structure iron and castings are being adjusted on Greenhaven Drive and Gilfillan Lane. Tree removals will be completed near storm ponds and outlets.
Wednesday, June 7, 2023 - Concrete will be poured on Greenhaven Drive, Gilfillan Lane, and Crescent Curve. Curb Removals will take place on Greenhaven Drive and Moon Lake Circle. Tree removals will take place in a few spots around storm ponds and storm pond outlets.
Tuesday, June 6, 2023 - Removals are taking place on Moon Lake Circle and Greenhaven Drive. Concrete curb is being poured on Gilfillan Lane, Greenhaven Drive, and Crescent Curve.
Monday, June 5, 2023 - Removals are taking place on Moon Lake Circle and Greenhaven Drive. Concrete curb work is scheduled to take place tomorrow, June 6th beginning on Gilfillan Lane. This schedule is weather dependent and may change.
Friday, June 2, 2023 - Removals are taking place on Greenhaven Drive, Crescent Curve, and Moon Lake Circle. Bituminous patching in front of concrete curb will take place on North Birch Lake Boulevard in the afternoon. These activities are weather dependent.
Thursday, June 1, 2023 - Removals are taking place on Greenhaven Drive, Crescent Curve, and Moon Lake Circle. Bituminous patching in front of concrete curb will take place on North Birch Lake Boulevard this afternoon.
Wednesday, May 31, 2023 - Curb and sidewalk removals are taking place on Greenhaven Drive and Crescent Curve.
Tuesday, May 30, 2023 - Curb and driveway removals are taking placing on Gilfillan Lane, Greenhaven Drive, and Crescent Curve.
Friday, May 26, 2023 - The contractor is performing site cleanup and sweeping on North Birch Lake Boulevard, Greenhaven Drive, and Gilfillan Lane in preparation for the weekend.
Thursday, May 25, 2023 - Concrete curb will be poured on Greenhaven Drive. Curb removals will take place on Greenhaven Drive, Crescent Curve and Gilfillan Lane.
Wednesday, May 24, 2023 - Concrete is being poured on North Birch Lake Boulevard. Removals for curb and sidewalk is taking place on Greenhaven Drive.
Tuesday, May 23, 2023 - The contractor is continuing curb and sidewalk removals. They are starting on North Birch Lake Boulevard this morning and once complete will be moving to Greenhaven Drive at Highway 96 and work east. New concrete will be poured beginning tomorrow May 24th.
Monday, May 22, 2023 - Contractor is beginning to remove deteriorated concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk. They will start on North Birch Lake Boulevard and then move to Greenhaven Drive and work east from Highway 96 towards Allendale.
