White Bear Township's Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP)

Storm Drain

We are required by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to complete the MS4 requirements each year. The MS4 (Municipal Separate Sewer System and the 4 refers to separate, storm, sewer and system) regulations are put in place to help prevent/minimize harmful pollutants from being washed into the stormwater system. This includes retention basins, ditches and roadside inlets. The Discharge into these systems do not run through a treatment system and run directly into our lakes, streams and ponds so it is important to make sure contamination is minimized. Each year we as a Township are required to report on our progress in this effort. Once we have submitted our permit application and the MPCA considers it complete, the public has the opportunity to comment on the submitted application.

The SWPPP document is available for your review by clicking here. The review period ends on October 1, 2021.
